Zoom classes will continue for the rest of June and July for those who want to play it safe.  For my out of town people I'm hoping to have a new online option available by August!

Here are some precautions we are taking but of course if you think you might be sick please stay home!


Health and Safety Requirements and Recommendations

for Participation in S & W Z Fitness, LLC Classes and Events

  1. 1.  When entering the gym please wear your mask and remove it when it is time to dance.

  2. 2.  Upon entering the building there will be hand sanitizer available but you may also use your own.

  3. 3.  Please allow 6 feet of space between yourself and other participants and the instructor.

  4. 4.  You will be required to sign a new Liability Waiver before joining class. They will be available on the stage. Please take a fresh pen to sign it, place the form in the “Completed Forms” pile and the used pen in the container marked for “Used Pens”.

  5. 5.  Please have your punch card ready and hold it out to be punched. It would help greatly if you could also write your name on the back of your card.

  6. 6.  Please make sure to take all your belongings with you when you leave. Used and empty water bottles can be disposed of in the trash can near the front of the gym.

  7. 7.  As with all fitness activities, only you can be mindful of your own body and how you feel. If you have pain with certain movements, try modifying the move to be more comfortable and functional for your own wellbeing.

  8. 8.  Being to class on time for the warm up and staying to stretch at the end of class will also help you avoid injury.

  9. 9.  Shoes that are flexible, supportive and able to slide and twist easily, as well as clothing that is comfortable and not too warm, are recommended for your safety.

Christian Dance Fitness and Toning!

Join us on Saturdays after the first half of Zumba for 30 minutes of toning upper body, lower body and core and squeeze in a little time with the Holy Spirit too!  We have sand filled water bottles that weigh just under 2 pounds plus a few sets of small hand weights but please feel free to bring your own if you prefer.  

Zumba Fitness is a fitness dance party! Zumba classes blend upbeat world rhythms with easy-to-follow choreography to provide effective, total-body workouts. Our class will be using a mixture of dance styles but will primarily focus on basic Zumba movements. The choreography is very easy to convert from high impact to low impact by simply making your movements smaller and less aggressive. You will be shown how to do this in our class.

What should you bring?
You WILL sweat! We strongly suggest that you always bring a small towel and a bottle of water. Wear comfortable, lightweight clothes that allow you a full range of motion. Wear athletic or dance shoes that don’t have too much traction. You need to be able to turn, slide and wiggle!

This is the Gym where we meet!  It is on N. Pierce at Iberville facing the Drive Thru for Walgreens Pharmacy.  Parking for the gym is on the right.  Please enter through the door off the parking lot toward the back of the building, pictured above.
